“Adopt an Institute”: orientation project promoted by Confindustria with companies and students concluded

Excellent results for the first experimental year of the orientation project “Adopt an Institute”the project of Liguria region And Confindustria Liguria promoted in the area by Confindustria La Spezia in synergy with Cisita. Pursuing the aims of the project, 80 children from three third year classesCapellini-Sauro Technical Institute, were accompanied to the knowledge and in-depth analysis of transversal themes through a “guide path” to the institutions and the economic system, to company organization and to safety in the workplace. Institutional and entrepreneurial testimonies, including company visits, followed one another as part of the scholastic path, involving around twenty companies and numerous institutions in the project. “Each class had the opportunity to visit our associated companies, in line with their respective studies and specializations, thanks to the availability given by entrepreneurs for whom the topic of orientation is crucial – declares Mario GeriniPresident of Confindustria La Spezia – I would like to thank everyone for their commitment and dedication, together with Cisita who supported us in the project, in the hope of maintaining and renewing these important synergies in the coming years too.”

“The Adopt an Institute project was certainly useful for the students involved as it was developed to allow them to have an overall vision of the realities of the area surrounding them, each class followed a path designed according to their specializations – he claims Antonio Fini, Headmaster of the Capellini-Sauro Technical Institute – As we know, PCTOs should be a window onto the world of work in which “knowledge” and “know-how” are combined to give children the opportunity to apply what they have learned in class through a concrete experience, in a real or simulated working context. At the end of the activities, in my opinion, it was really important to better enhance an aspect sometimes neglected by schools: that of evaluation. We should never lose sight of the fact that PCTOs are a learning experience and that, as such, they make sense if they have a measurable impact in terms of skills. This project represented a real learning experience – concludes Fini – a teaching methodology through which disciplines and skills integrate, mutually strengthening each other. And that’s how I hope the kids perceived it.”

But this was able to be achieved thanks to each individual who actively intervened, contributing to the success of this experience. It is for this reason that I would like to thank all those who contributed to making this orientation path important – and highly operational, starting with the kids at ITIS Cappellini, with their enthusiasm and their desire to learn; therefore, all the companies in our area, even more numerous this year, testifying to an increasingly close union between education and the world of work. Finally, the institutions, the true glue of this union, for their commitment and constant support.”
