MATERA – Stop the services provided by the Miulli hospital to Lucanians. The citizens, in particular those of Matera, who have the Acquaviva delle Fonti hospital 30 km from the city of Sassi as their point of reference, will have to backtrack. This is because, as has already happened in the past, the Basilicata Region has not renewed the border agreement with Puglia forced to validate a stop order.

The suspension, starting from July 1st and until December 31st, concerns scheduled hospitalizations, Day Surgery, Day Hospital, Day Service and Outpatient. Same decision also for oncology and radiotherapy visits, diagnostic tests such as CT scans, X-rays, Endoscopies. It will only be possible to carry out check-ups. At the moment, there remains only one possibility, that is, the specialist “first visit” booked at a cost of 60 euros. From Matera comes the cry of the city councilor Pasquale Doria who speaks of failure to respect the Constitution. A regression – as he says – which especially affects the less well-off social groups. Situation concludes Doria – destined to worsen with differentiated autonomy in the absence of any guarantee on the essential levels of performance, the so-called Lep.
