Professor Flavia Frisone, full professor of Greek History at the University of Salento, on the proposal of the President of the Hellenic Cultural Foundation Nikos A. Koukisand with a unanimous resolution of the Board of Directors, she was appointed Honorary Representative of the Hellenic Cultural Foundation for the Puglia Region and, in particular, in Lecce and in the area of ​​the Grecia Salentina Community.

Former President of the Degree Course in Cultural Heritage and of the first Double Degree Italy – China in Cultural Heritage (UniSalento-NorthWest University Xi’an), Flavia Frisone has countless publications to her credit on the themes of Greek colonization (Colonie of colonies, 2009) and on rituals (Funeral Laws and Regulations, 2000) which constitute points of reference for studies in the sector.

She also deals with the history of women in the Greek world and gender studies, in the forms of communication and in-depth analysis of public history (in particular with the project #allascuoladelledonne, started in 2016).

It carries out an intense cultural activity, with the organization of shows and exhibitions, in collaboration with public and private institutions, participation in contests, public meetings and television programs (Rai Storia, TedX, Festival of Philosophy, Festival of the Ancient, etc. .), seminars and conferences.
For his commitment to the public dissemination of scientific topics he received the Anassilaos International Award, XXXV ed., 2023, section. “Megale Hellas”.

He is a member of important scientific societies, including the University Council for Greek and Roman History, the Institute for the History and Archeology of Magna Graecia, and the Italian Association of Public History.

She is part of “100 experts against stereotypes” (www.100esperte.it).

The Hellenic Cultural Foundation is a prestigious institution that, since 1992, promotes Greek culture and intercultural dialogue throughout the world.
