Cagliari, councilor insulted on social media: she publishes the hater’s name

“Councilor? It would be better if he made a film… With Rocco Siffredi.” This offensive and sexist comment was directed at the Councilor for Labor of the Sardinia Region, Desirè Manca, by a user on social media. The insult appeared as a response to a news story about the councilor. Instead of removing or censoring it, Manca made the comment even more visible, keeping the author’s name and face prominently displayed, and announced legal action against him.

The origin of it all is an article which reported the letter from fifteen regional opposition councilors addressed to the president of the Region, Alessandra Todde. The letter asked to “call to order” Manca, accused of having attacked the mayors of Sardinia in an unacceptable way. Among the comments on the article, the user’s one stood out for its non-political nature: “Just seeing this character councilor for Labor is a whole program, maybe it would be better if he made some films, busy, with Rocco Siffredi.”

Councilor Manca responded like this: “But will this ‘gentleman’ have a mother, a wife, a sister or a daughter? I wonder if the same respect he showed towards a woman is also used in his family.”

There were numerous messages of solidarity towards Mancawhile now it will be up to the lawyers to intervene to bring order between the councilor and his hater.
