Ragusa Anti-bullying Clinic, 5000 students involved

This year tooAnti-bullying clinic of the ASP of Ragusacoordinated by Giuseppe Raffa, pedagogist and trainer, has set in motion with prevention and information interventions regarding the main emergencies affecting the world of young people. The experience of the clinic, active since 2016, has not only involved schools, pupils, parents and teachers, but has seen the involvement and collaboration of numerous local authorities, and institutional representatives, club services, associations , volunteer and church groups.

“Ours, from Rome downwards, it is a one-of-a-kind experience“, says Raffa before listing some numbers: “there were 55 schools and educational institutions of all levels that agreed to our intervention proposals or requested our presence; 15 institutional representatives, Iblei service clubs and associations, who requested and obtained our interventions and our professionalism. Among these stand out the Ragusa Police Headquarters and Prefecture, as well as the provincial Church“. Furthermore, Raffa continues, “five thousand, including pupils and students, were involved in our initiatives of training, information and prevention regarding the main youth emergencies. Together with them too 394 adults“.

Among the topics addressed during the activities, the following stand out: school, technological and social bullying; bullying in women and in sport; technological addictions; enabling the correct and informed use of social media and technologies; gender violence; fight against fake news; parental support; enabling responsible use of cell phones; habit of non-violence. “A painstaking job – declares the coordinator of the Anti-bullying clinic – which, thanks to the passion that distinguishes us, has allowed our team to provide useful advice and suggestions to children and their families, teachers and managers of the schools visited. And not only in the province of Ragusa. Given the uniqueness of our structure, in fact, with joy and pride, we were called to intervene in schools and institutions in five other Sicilian provinces. A further example of good healthcare for our ASP”.

For his part, the Extraordinary Commissioner of the ASP of Ragusa, Giuseppe Drago, expresses “satisfaction with the work of the Anti-bullying clinic”, highlighting how the recent adhesion of the ASP to a Memorandum of Understanding against bullying, cyberbullying and addictions promoted from the Police Headquarters, “strengthens the Company’s presence on issues of a social nature and linked to the prevention of violent behaviour. Our goal is to offer increasingly suitable tools to young people and families.”
