The inauguration of the second edition of will be held tomorrow afternoon (21 June), at 5pm at the Real Collegio Lucca Historiae Fest, where it will be possible to visit the exhibitions dedicated to miniatures, the multimedia story of the history of Lucca and the exhibition space of publishing houses and artisan products. At the same time, the artillery displays at the San Martino barracks and the exhibition will also be open Re-Knowing the Walls to the Santa Croce underground.

The day’s program will continue at 6pm with a conference, again at the Real Collegio, on two thousand years of history of the city and which will see the interventions of the archaeologist Elisabetta Abela, doctor Roberta Martinelli and professor Alessandro Bedini. Last event on Friday at 8pm at Caffè delle Mura with an aperitif open to citizens, where re-enactors and exhibitors will be present.

On Saturday and Sunday (22 and 23 June) we will get to the heart of the festival with the opening, from 10am to 7pm, of theTime Clock, the historical reconstruction section set up along all the bastions of the Walls through which it will be possible to retrace the history of Lucca from its Ligurian/Etruscan origins to the Second World War. In addition to the ongoing educational activities, which will take place at the above times, there will also be artillery firing, falconry shows, duel performances, military maneuvers and battles.

Also on Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 7pm all the scheduled exhibitions will be open to visitors, as well as the children’s play area at the Real Collegio and the large medieval military camp built on the battlements of San Frediano. Duels and historical fencing exhibitions will be held in the latter area until midday and again from 5pm to 7pm.

On the homonymous bastion of San Frediano both Saturday and Sunday it will be possible to attend morning and afternoon performances of flag-wavers and historical medieval and Renaissance dances. A series of dance performances relating to the 18th/19th century will be held at the Real Collegio on Sunday from 3.30pm to 7pm.

On Saturday starting from 6pm and on Sunday from 5pm at the Santa Maria bastion there will be a performance of a bohemian café with period music and dance.

The last event of the day will be in the stands of San Frediano with the wait knights’ jousting, the chivalric tournament that was a great success among the public last year. This show will be held on Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 7pm.
