One “conversation of considerable importance”, the one reported for the investigators, as part of the recent operation of the Carabinieri of the Manfredonia Company who yesterday, 18 June 2024, executed a Precautionary Custody Order, issued by the GIP of the Court of Foggia at the request of the local Public Prosecutor’s Office, against 8 suspects (all Italian, of which 7 recipients of custody in prison and 1 of house arrest), held responsible in various capacities for drug dealing and extortion.
The investigative activity, coordinated by the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of Foggia, represents the continuation of a further investigation by the Manfredonia Company, which had led, in February 2022, to the execution of a precautionary measure against three people accused of dealing in narcotic substances. The operation made it possible to document, from January to August 2023, a flourishing trafficking of cocaine and hashish, sold both wholesale and retail in the city of Manfredonia, as well as to ascertain the use of violence and threats of retaliation by a suspect against 2 victims, for the collection of a debt of over 2 thousand euros accrued for the purchase of drugs, then paid in at least two tranches.
As a result of the activities carried out, during the investigations 2 people were arrested for possession of narcotic substances for the purpose of dealing and 7 drug users were reported to the Prefecture of Foggia.
Now waiting for the guarantee interviews, before the investigating judge of the Court of Foggia, against the suspects.
