VARESE – AND the hottest topic in town in this early summer in Varese: the stalemate of the former Aermacchi has attracted the attention not only of the political world, monopolizing the work of the last city council meeting last Tuesday, but also of the citizens, with residents starting to mobilize.

Today, Saturday 29th June, on the external wall of the area where the works started a few months ago, a stain appeared a banner positioned by some residents of Masnago concerned by the abrupt stop which has undergone regeneration intervention following the latest indications from the Superintendency. “Redevelopment gives you wings. Don’t clip them”: this is the message written on a white sheet. But it doesn’t end there: the people of Varese are also ready to prepare a petition to ask for a solution to the matter which is currently at a standstill.
Meeting in sight
Some news, after the owners decided to temporarily block the works, could come frommeeting scheduled for next week in which all the parties involved will participate: Municipality, operator and Superintendency. «On that occasion – say the municipal administration – we will try to define possible improvement design solutions which can be integrated so that the two sports areas, swimming pools and gym are created, with attention to the recovery of the buildings”.
