CAPUA – First degree conviction, with abbreviated procedure, for Claudio Sinapithe wife Annamaria Fortino e Renaldo Likaj. The verdict for the three was triggered by the investigation, conducted by the Carabinieri of the Capua Company, into the burning of two cars aimed, according to the investigators’ theory, at convincing some citizens to sell their home located in Piazza Di Rauso at a good price. According to the public prosecutor Gerardina Cozzolino, Sinapi and Fortino wanted to buy their own house from those who will be the victims of their alleged criminal conduct. But they couldn’t succeed in the negotiation. And so the couple, after having had persecutory attitudes towards them, went so far as to explicitly address threats to the family of the owner of the apartment they wanted to buy: “Since you are not willing to sell the thing, I will take other third party routes.” people”, “You better get out of here”. These are some of the sentences that the two would have addressed to the victims. And these other ways would have consisted of involving some Albanians, instructing them to set fire to the owners’ cars as a brutal warning: they had to sell, otherwise it could end badly for them.
Sinapi, a 62-year-old, owner of a gym, and Fortino, his 52-year-old wife, received 4 years of imprisonment each, while Likaj, a 26-year-old Albanian, received 3 years and 8 months. He was also on trial Gazmir Shahu, 39 year old Albanian, but his position has been removed: he will face the hearing. The judge issued the verdict Daniela Vecchiarelli of the Court of S. The arsonists involved in the trial occurred in November 2022, when a Fiat 500 owned by the head of the family who was targeted by Sinapi and his wife was burned, and in May 2023, when the car of the victim’s daughter was hit by fire.
