Sanremo. The State Council, after a legal battle that lasted years, agrees with the residents of the ancient medieval village earthquake victim Old Bussana. First of all, they will not have to pay the compensation to access the tender for the assignment of the properties and, again according to the supreme body of administrative justice, they will have to be involved in the process of valorising the inhabited area. There are approximately eighty residents affected by this provision and commercial activities have also been recognised.
«The provision of the Council of State – explains Vittorio Toesca, representative of the residents – he ruled in favor of us inhabitants, who had appealed against the provision that would have seen the development plan pass over our heads and also the provision that would have made us pay ten years of arrears for the occupation of public land, despite all the interventions that have been carried out by residents over the years and which have allowed Bussana Vecchia to rebuild itself and become a popular destination in the Municipality of Sanremo”.
Toesca continues: «Our proposals are to continue in the direction we have gone so far. The provisions of the Council of State prove us right both in our actions and in our intentions. The principle of horizontal subsidiarity enshrined in this provision obliges the administration to make us an active part of everything that will be the future of Bussana Vecchia. We will not be excluded and will be privileged actors. We want Bussana to remain a medieval village as it was at the time. The administrations will have to contact us for any improvements or restyling».
