Reggio Calabria, the European Investment Bank welcomed

There Metropolitan City Of Reggio Calabria is aimed at the business world and supports the European Investment Bank to present the Integrated Urban Plans Thematic Fundmanaged by the EIB through the financial intermediaries Equiter (with the Intesa Sanpaolo Group) and Banca FININT and SINLOC, as part of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR).

The horizon is the implementation of the 28 interventions promoted by the Metropolitan City as part of the “Pui – Aspromonte in città”, a process around which funding of over 118 million euros is aimed at the creation of a green, sustainable, inclusive and smart. In this sense, the role of private individuals will be very important and was underlined by the deputy mayor Carmelo Versace who opened the session of work, in the Confindustria conference room, together with Giuseppe Febert, vice-president of the Reggio industrialists, and Michele Laganà, president of the Association of builders from Reggio, to Fabio Piazza for the EIB, to the financial intermediaries of Equiter, Sinloc and Sara Paganin Finint Investments Sgr, Barberis, Cipriani and Mico, to Pietro Foti, manager of Sector 10 of Palazzo Alvaro – “Planning, Valorisation of the territory , Special Laws” and to Patrizia De Stefano of the Masterplan Office of the Municipality of Reggio Calabria.

Versace’s words

“It is an opportunity not to be missed for Anci and Confindustria”, said the deputy mayor Versace in inviting the two associations “to immediately implement a work plan capable of shortening the timescales and being able to carry out capable projects , concretely, to make the territory change. The interesting thing – he added – it is precisely the public-private partnership, the fact of being able to count on an instrument that is close to the needs of entrepreneurs so as to fit the normal expectations of businesses into the programmatic will of the Metropolitan City”.

“Being able to compare ourselves with the EIB and top-level financial intermediaries – continued Carmelo Versace – it is truly a great opportunity because we are in the presence of professionals who can give the territory that support and expertise useful for perfecting the mission inherent in the PUI, that is, the involvement of entrepreneurs who often, especially in Southern Italy, do not have the possibilities to carry out projects that, for too long, have remained locked in a drawer”.

“As a Metropolitan City – he added – we are really proud to promote an initiative that sees the effort put in for “Aspromonte in the city” rewarded, an idea that saw us as protagonists from the beginning of a path that was anything but simple and which involved 97 municipalities , in the face of different choices made by other Metropolitan Cities which have decided on a different involvement of the territories”.

“We are in line with the times and I am confident”, concluded the metropolitan deputy mayor by thanking the manager of the institution, Pietro FotiThat “has wisely supported, with its structure, the PUI “Aspromonte in città” which will prove to be an extraordinary plan to relaunch the area in terms of urban regeneration of the Municipalities and local communities”.
