On 20 and 21 June, in the Department of Economics of the University of Perugia, the “Manifesto for a New Economy” will be presented (https://www.festivalnazionaleeconomiacivile.it/manifesto-per-una-nuova-economia/), already signed by over 300 economists of national and international fame.

The international conference “Manifesto and frontiers of research for an economic Renaissance” will address the issues and challenges that are putting the future of our civilization at risk. Economists and representatives of universities from all over the world, in fact, will propose an international manifesto that illustrates the generative potential, satisfaction and richness of meaning in life, of a sustainable response to today’s challenges.

Many prominent names will take part in the Perugia event, including Jeffrey Sachs (Columbia University), Jayati Ghosh (Jawaharlal Nehru University), Robert H. Frank (Cornell University), Fabrizio Barca (Coordinator of the Inequalities and Diversity Forum), Renato Brunetta (CNEL President), Claudia Benedetti (Head of the General Secretariat and Mutuality Development of Federcasse-BCC), Marcello Signorelli (Director of the Department of Economics and full professor of economic policy at the University of Perugia), Leonardo Becchetti (Director of the National Festival of Civil Economy and Co-founder NeXt Economia) and many others.

The Conference – organized by the Department of Economics of the University of Perugia, Federcasse BCC, Confcooperative and NeXt Economia, with the support of Fondosviluppo and the contribution of Assimoco, Fondazione Giorgio Fuà, Fondazione Perugia and Gioosto and with the patronage of Sites, Sied, Siecon, Aissec – will be a fundamental stage leading up to the 6th edition of the National Festival of Civil Economy, scheduled in Florence from 3 to 6 October 2024.
