“Over time, our public healthcare has had to evolve, adapt to the times and new patient care needs: long hospitalizations have been replaced by taking care of patients with chronic pathologies, favoring quicker and more effective access to care, with renewed attention to the person’s psycho-physical well-being. The new corporate proposal of the Local Health Authority of Latina, presented yesterday by the extraordinary commissioner Sabrina Cenciarelli, is not only consistent with this approach, but presents truly innovative features that are attentive to the real needs of the territory”.
With these words, the mayor of Aprilia Lanfranco Principi commented on the report of the extraordinary commissioner Sabrina Cenciarelli, on the occasion of the conference of mayors for healthcare, which took place yesterday morning at the headquarters of the Municipality of Latina in Piazza del Popolo. The works, chaired by the mayor of Latina Matilde Celentano, allowed the mayors to learn about the salient features of the new healthcare model proposed at the Local Health Authority of Latina, which was welcomed with great satisfaction.
“Among the most important innovations that emerged during the meeting – continues the Mayor of Aprilia – the establishment of the Department of High Neuro-cardio-vascular specialties, with the activation of the Cardiac Surgery Unit in Latina, allowing Goretti to carry out complex interventions and implement minimally invasive surgery. A transmural maternal and child department will also be created, to integrate the service offered by the hospital with those of the area. These are just some of the innovations presented, which are the result of a new way of conceiving local healthcare, both from an organizational and clinical point of view, for an increasingly efficient and citizen-friendly service”.
