TRENT. I am cases of legal help desk and worker orientation increased by 53% compared to the previous year treated by the equality councilor of the Province of Trento, Matteo Borzaga.

There would be mainly two reasons: on the one hand, having established the institute in 2022 at the Provincial Council has given the office greater visibility and therefore facilitated access to the service, on the other the growing use of consultancy is indicative of an increased and increasingly widespread discomfort with a general worsening of the working conditions of workers.

The prevailing issues are family-work conciliation and other organizational problems, particularly for women returning from maternity leave. Other controversial aspects are the flexibility and precariousness of the labor market, especially for female workers in terms of involuntary part-time and work hardship and mobbing (with an incidence of this case measured in 80 cases out of the total, equal to 167).

It must be said that the activity of the equality advisor often takes place in alongside that of the unions or lawyers to whom the worker turned before asking for advice. We decide together how to proceed, always fully respecting the needs of the parties, with the aim of achieving a peaceful mediation and, ultimately, of accessing at least the benefits of Naspi.

Alongside this prevalent commitment, the equality advisor carried out a series of information and awareness-raising activities in 2023, among which the “Paths between birth and work” stand out in collaboration with the Demarchi Foundation, the collaboration with the “Lotus” association – Beyond Breast Cancer”.
