Thursday June 20th they will go on stage at Grosseto the Italian cycling championships with the men’s individual event a stopwatch. The event, organized in collaboration with the Italian Cycling Federation, is one of the fundamental stages of the Italian professional cycling championship included in the initiative of Tricolor Tuscany which provides that all the races of the Italian championships will take place in our region this year.

Candidates for the tricolor title
The favorite is of course Filippo Ganna, already winner of one of the time trial stages of the Giro d’Italia and who is hunting for his fifth national title, one step away from Marco Pinotti’s record of 6. After this test, the Italian from Verbania, bearer of the Ineos Granadier team, will focus on preparing for the Paris Olympics to defend the gold in the team pursuit won in Tokyo. They will be there to make life hard for Ganna Matteo Sobrero (Bora-hansgrohe), already winner of the tricolor in 2021, but also Edoardo Affini (Team Visma | Lease a Bike), Jonathan Milan of Lidl Trek and cyclamen jersey at the last Giro d’Italia up to Lorenzo Milesi (Movistar).

The route will be 35 km long with start and finish in Viale della Repubblica a Grosseto. It will be completely flat with characteristics very similar to those that the Italians will face at the next Paris Olympics, the only variable will be the wind.
After about 700 meters from the start you will enter the circuit of just under 17 kilometers which will have to be repeated twice and which will develop entirely outside the city of Grosseto: a ring which will present several long straightswhere powerful runners will have the opportunity to push at full speed without worrying about the brakes, and with just a few corners, including one just before the finish line which takes you back to the stadium where the final finish line is located. These are the places that will be crossed: Grosseto, Little prince to Terra, La Trappola, San Lorenzo up to Grosseto again.
