A man, already identified as the suspected perpetrator of the vandalism raids carried out during the nights of the last two weekends and tonight, with the damage to over 100 cars parked in Via Vittoria, Via Verdi and Via Firenze in the same neighborhood, was arrested by the Carabinieri of the Operational and Radiomobile Nucleus of the Biella Company, supported by the officers of the Municipal Police of the city.
Around one o’clock this night the 49-year-old man was walking around Piazza XXV Aprile with a knife in his hand and a mobile phone with the function of “flashlight” to illuminate the targets to be hit, the tires of parked cars . The noise caused by the explosion of one of the affected tires attracted the attention of some citizens who alerted the Carabinieri on NUE 112.
Immediately the Carabinieri, who had been stationed in the area for days in civilian clothes together with the Local Police officers following the events of the past few nights, identified and stopped him after a clumsy attempt to escape. The reasons for the gesture would be due to the man’s internal anger towards a world considered ignorant and hostile, and a presumed serious illness, which would have led him to vent his anger by damaging the vehicles parked in the neighborhood.
The man was then arrested for aggravated damage and, on the orders of the Public Prosecutor on duty at the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Biella, placed under house arrest. Once again, collaboration between institutions, and between institutions and citizens has made it possible to resolve a case that had caused serious alarm and to restore serenity among the population.

The news is still fragmentary but according to the first information gathered, a man on the run was stopped around 1.30 this night, 29 June, in via della Vittoria, in Chiavazza. It seems that he is the alleged perpetrator of the vandalism caused to 60 cars.
It seems that he was arrested in the act of committing a crime, with a knife in his hand. Local police officers intervened on site, together with the Carabinieri. Numerous passers-by and residents witnessed the event.
