Over ten thousand lightning strikes struck Friuli Venezia Giulia in less than six hours. Result of dozens of storms that moved far and wide across our region, during the yellow weather alert issued by the Civil Protection. Lightning, but also a lot of rain, with over 100 millimeters of rain recorded in Pantianicco, of which about fifty in an hour. The wind was also intense, once again with the peak recorded in Pantianicco di Mereto di Tomba, where gusts reached one hundred kilometers per hour. Damage was recorded in various areas of the region, with flooding in Morsano al Tagliamento and Rivignano Teor and some houses suffering roof damage in Ronchis.

Bad weather and strong winds hit Western Friuli in the afternoon. Particular damage in Sacile where a large tree fell on the cycle-pedestrian bridge between Foro Boario and via Carducci. The transit was immediately closed with an order from Mayor Spagnol. Local Civil Protection working to eliminate the large tree and intervene in other minor tree falls in the city. The fall of a tree also blocked the tracks on the Sacile-Maniago railway line, between Aviano and Budoia, interrupting the journey of a train. Trees also fell in Polcenigo and Caneva.
