Hell in Sassari for the attack on Mondialpol, the mayor: «The State intervenes»

«The very serious armed assault carried out last night on the Mondialpol headquarters in Sassari alarms and causes great anger. We are witnessing for the umpteenth time in a short time the entry into action in our territory of an organized and prepared crime, unscrupulous, unscrupulous, which undermines the safety of our community and endangers the lives of ordinary people in order to achieve their deplorable objectives.”

The new mayor of Sassari, Giuseppe Mascia, says this in a note. «It is now a criminal phenomenon which, due to its frequency and severity, replaces in the global imagination the plague represented in the past by kidnappings in person, providing a misleading image of Sardinia, which discourages investments and any process of socio-economic and employment relaunch”, he adds, «I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all public safety workers who, at the cost of putting their own lives at risk, intervened promptly and ensured the safety of the many people who, despite themselves, found themselves living through truly terrible moments. Without their contribution, the story could have taken on dramatic overtones.”

Trusting in the work of the police and investigators to bring those responsible to justice, the mayor hopes for «immediate and extraordinary interventions by the State to put a stop to this very dangerous drift. I spoke about this this morning on the phone with the Prefect of Sassari, to which I represented all our apprehension and all our disapproval. In sharing my same moods and the same urgency to intervene, the Prefect has announced the extraordinary convocation of the provincial Committee for public order and safety for next Thursday, during which yesterday’s events will have absolute priority.”
