“A large trough, extending from Scandinavia to Spain, is gradually advancing eastwards, passing over Italy between today and tomorrow, still maintaining residual weakly unstable conditions over the region for today’s afternoon, followed by a temporarily sunnier truce during the daytime hours of Tuesday.“: these are the forecast regional, as reported in the bulletin of Arpa Piedmont. “As early as tomorrow evening, a new passage of cold air at altitude from France to northern Italy will bring a new moderate worsening of the weather on Wednesday, with an associated drop in daytime temperatures. On Thursday, north-westerly flow at high altitude, between the Azores anticyclone to the south and the vast polar trough over northern Europe, will guarantee stable and sunny weather, with rising temperatures but without discomfort“.
According to the regional Arpa weather forecast, in Piedmont Today irregularly cloudy skies are expected, with cloudiness decreasing during the afternoon, starting from the western piedmont areas; more persistent cloudiness on the north-western border Alps; more extensive clearings in the evening. Forecast reversals scattered, with possible local thunderstorms close to the south-western Alps; phenomena of weak or moderate intensity. General exhaustion from the late evening. Zero thermal gradually decreasing up to 3500-3600 m north and 3700 m south; lower values, up to 3300-3400 m, on the north-western border Alpine ridges. Temperatures
decreasing maximums. Venti moderate north-western Alps; initially weak from the south over the Apennines but rapidly reintensifying and rotating from the north in the evening; weak mainly from the south-southwest in the plains, rotating from the north-northwest in the evening with local reinforcements in the northern Alpine valleys.
