Stop trains on the Verona-Cerea line

Five-day stop to traffic on the Verona-Cerea railway line. The traffic ban will come into force on Monday 24th and will last until Friday 28th June 2024 included. The interruption, which will affect both directions of travel, is functional to the carrying out of redevelopment works on two bridges by the Italian railway network company (RFI), the hub of the FS Group which manages and carries out maintenance on the country’s railway infrastructures.

“The interruption of the section between Verona and Cerea will allow the launching of the new bridge over the Canossa drain. This work was necessary because the previous railway crossing required important maintenance interventions, such as to suggest its complete demolition and replacement with a type of manufactured in line with the most modern design standards”, explains RFI in a note.

The activation of the replacement bus service is planned for the transport of passengers coming from the Legnago station and for travelers departing from the Porta Nuova station. The bus routes (from Verona and Cerea with the intermediate stops in Bovolone and Isola della Scala) will be operated by the Sistemi territoriali company, the regional company that manages local public transport.
