“The turnout was low and 55% of voters were divided into three. A division in which there is a risk that the next mayor will be elected with a very low percentage and this is why I have expanded the sharing of my program to Fellegara“.
The words of the candidate for mayor of Sanremo, citizen Alessandro Mager regarding the handshake with the center left in view of the run-off against Gianni Rolando’s center right.
Mager, rightly, moves cautiously, probably aware of the discontent within the center left created by his opening. When Fellegara had asked for an alliance, both Rolando and Mager had in fact refused, thanks to the coherence that had motivated them since the beginning of the electoral campaign. Mager, however, apparently had second thoughts and got closer offering multiple courses on the tray.
“Not armchairs – he specifies – but sharing the programme”. On sharing, the themes vary from social to health, passing through neighborhoods and suburbs, on a political level it becomes difficult to find even the slightest connection.
Fellegara, CGIL trade unionist did resurrect the center left and the PD from the rubble while Mager, playing on civility, has linked the left (former Pd Biancheri junta), center and right always being very careful not to identify himself but above all to reiterate his independence from important parties and politicians. ” It’s true – Mager points out – I received an endorsement from Claudio Scajola but we can’t go beyond that.”
The figure of Scajola certainly represents a big question for the centre-left electorate and for many, it is difficult to stay out of the Sanremo games and this is perhaps also the reason why confirmation of support for Mager has not yet come from the centre-left. Except Progetto Sanremo which in the last few hours has dissociated itself from any Mager-Fellagara axis.
The latter, practically unreachable for days, however seems to have left the role of ambassador to Mager, a move in some ways understandable given that he had always stood out for defending the values of coherence and independence.
As far as Gianni Rolando is concerned, Mager recalls that “he has held political positions for years. I have never been involved in active politics and let’s not say that he and his coalition represent the new”
