The provincial structure of the League of Catanzaro is meeting this afternoon for a broad examination of the electoral result of the “Europeans” and its effects on Calabria where 9% was obtained which allowed the Calabrian party to overcome the traditional strongholds of the party and – – as stated in a press release from the party – it contributed to rebalancing the political weight between South and North. The note underlines that much of the credit for the success is to be attributed to two prominent personalities of the Northern League movement: Filippo Mancuso, president of the Regional Council and the Hon. Simona Loizzo, Deputy of the Republic.
In the League’s press note, signed by Giuseppe Macrì Regional Manager of the ENVIRONMENT Department of the LEGA Calabria and Giuseppe Folino Provincial Secretary, it is written: “The strength of our party, according to the Regional Secretary Giacomo Saccomanno, has demonstrated that the League is mature to face the challenges that society asks us for the social development of the territories abandoned to their fate for years. The central area, led by the provincial secretary Giuseppe Folino and the board composed of: Lucio Romeo, Mariano Varano, Giuseppe Staglianò, Giuseppe Bellantoni and Mafalda Santoro, achieved the best results, leading the capital city to be the most “Lega-friendly” region of Italy. If anyone thinks that the Salvini Premier League is an appendage of the Northern League, they are greatly mistaken. Salvini has demonstrated that Italy has a unitary value and the South, thanks to his foresight, is a great resource for the nation. Beyond what may be the territorial specificities of Calabria, with its values, its potential and its weakness; the LEAGUE led by our Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Matteo Salvini is demonstrating particular and intense attention aimed at relaunching Calabria in a European scenario. The North, Italy’s locomotive, with its industrial and technological development, needs the South, as a Mediterranean basin, rich in energy and environmental resources with great growth potential which cannot be done without. Matteo Salvini is demonstrating a real interest in the recovery of the economic delay of the South and the growth of the South, promoting large infrastructure investments starting from the Bridge over the Strait of Messina which will connect Calabria to Sicily, with an infrastructure aimed at uniting two regions of the Southern Italy with over 7 million inhabitants. We don’t want there to be a Northern League and a Southern League, because our Minister Salvini’s project looks with interest at the country of Italy, united with its identity and territorial values. The rhetoric of the left on the uselessness of the Bridge over the Strait of Messina clashes with the European project of connecting Northern Europe with the Mediterranean through the creation of the Palermo-Helsinki corridor of which the bridge is the unitary conclusion of the European “corridor”. Therefore, great appreciation to the Minister of Infrastructure Matteo Salvini, for the support action and for the attention to the development needs of the territories of the South with the idea of strengthening a national League that looks at the unitary development of Italy in a European. The development of the South is a unique opportunity, a growth opportunity facilitated by the resources that the PNRR has allocated to Southern Italy: 80 billion from the Pnnr and 75 billion from the Structural Funds. Let’s use them well and quickly, replacing the deleterious and “gattopardesque” bureaucracy with a new ruling class that does not fear the differentiated autonomy already provided for by our Constitutional Charter. The regional manager of the League for the Environment and Territory Sector Giuseppe Macrì applauds the work carried out by his minister Matteo Salvini and recalls that never has a Minister of the Republic made as many resources available to the South as he has made available. In particular the resources will be used to infrastructure Calabria to make it recover the structural gap that has always blocked its development. Matteo Salvini was the first to understand that relaunching competitiveness in the South helps the country to make it competitive with other nations. To all this, the counterpart of differentiated autonomy has been added which will make the ruling class of the southern regions responsible for the effectiveness of the resources spent, also to guarantee the northern regions, so that the resources are not spent badly as was the case with the Cassa del Mezzogiorno ! “
