Telco for Italy 2024: when and where
The priorities of the TLC 2024 agenda include the generation of revenues, the optimization of networks to reduce costs and energy consumption, the promotion of innovative services, particularly in the B2B sector, to accelerate the national path towards digital transformation and increase ultrabroadband fiber and 5G activations. Added to these is the challenge of consolidation. These will be the main themes on which Telco will focus for Italy.
The event will take place from 9.30 to 16.30 at Roma Eventi Piazza di Spagna in via Alibert 5 (HERE THE SPEAKERS ALREADY CONFIRMED).
Telco for Italy 2024: the themes
Despite advances in infrastructure, a significant gap persists between fiber optic coverage and adoption, and the 5G roadmap is moving slowly due to resistance from many local governments. In 2023, the fiber adoption rate grew by just 1.3% in EU+UK countries, reaching 52.7%, with Italy bringing up the rear at 26.9%. Spain leads with 78.9%. L’artificial intelligence it is seen as crucial for improving network management and reducing operational costs, as well as creating new services through data analytics.
The technologies cloud, cybersecurity and IoT they are growing rapidly and are essential for the national market, especially for SMEs. Digitalisation affects sectors such as manufacturing, smart cities, mobility, agriculture, healthcare and transport. Investment in submarine and satellite infrastructure is on the rise, with Italy potentially becoming an intercontinental hub in the Mediterranean. Ultra-broadband via satellite could quickly resolve the national digital divide.
All this will be at the center of the debate of the Roman event.
