The Genoa already working for the new season. Waiting to be made official the Primavera coach, the team manager Matteo Natuzzi is leading the organizational machine of the team. After the ninth place achieved last season, a few points away from qualifying for the play-offs, the rossoblù team wants to be ready for the appointment with the new championship, which will start with a new regulation and a greater number of teams at the starting line. The training camp for the second half – says Genoa’s official website – is set four days after that of the first team, with training sessions scheduled from 12 to 20 July at the “Gambino” sports center in Arenzano.
Training camp in Piedmont: four friendly matches planned
Afterwards, the second phase of the rossoblù team’s summer preparation will begin. From 22 July to 3 August, the team will move to Garessio, a Piedmontese town in the province of Cuneo. During this period, Spring will play four friendly matches against opponents yet to be made official.
Matches are scheduled for July 24, 27 and 31, as well as August 3. These matches will be important to test the physical and technical preparation of the Ligurian team in view of the start of the championship, which this year will be longer than the previous one, in light of the increase in the number of teams, from 18 to 20.
The last phase: another test for Spring
From 5 August – concludes the official website of the rossoblù club – the Primavera group will return to training in Liguria to concentrate on the official commitments that will get closer and closer. The last preparatory friendly is scheduled for August 10th and will be the match that will mark the end of the summer preparation. Also in this case, Genoa’s opponent for the friendly test will be announced later.
