“Dear musicians, customers and friends. We are doing everything we can to restore our parents’ business as soon as possible. We will update you. Thank you. “
With this simple message shared on Facebook, Leonardo and Stefano Cascone announce to everyone their desire to continue the business of their parents, Gianni Cascone and Giusy Polizziwho died in a tragic road accident on 9 June 2023 on the Modica-Ragusa road.

Gianni and Giusy united by love and music

The episode in which the Cascone couple lost their lives caused a lot of emotion throughout the province: they were particularly known not only for their human qualities, but also for their professional activity. Gianni Cascone was a virtuoso of the Euphonium, a musical instrument that led him to tour throughout Italy together with many orchestras. Giusy, originally from Ramacca, was a musician and a teacher. The love of music brought them together and this extraordinary bond made them known and appreciated throughout Sicily. Gianni was a teacher of many young musicians who today remember him with great affection. Together they had started a music and musical instrument shop, “Arte sonora” which is located in Ragusa in Corso Vittorio Veneto, which over time has become a meeting point for musicians or aspiring musicians and a precious treasure chest of advice. After the tragedy, the children decided to restart their parents’ business. In recent days, there have been many messages of affection and esteem. A piece of Ragusa’s history disappeared on that tragic night but, thanks to the love and dedication of their children, the memory of Gianni and Giusy will survive.
