Determined, enthusiastic and a great desire to get started: here is the first day of school for Mimmo Toscano, new coach of Catania Fc.
In the presence of president Ross Pelligra, CEO Vincenzo Grella and DS Faggiano, the Rossazzurri coach talked about his choice and his football.
Mimmo Toscano’s statements
“Today is an important day for me, I thank the President and the management of Catania for this great opportunity. The thing I can promise is the hard work I believe in so much. It will be a challenging year, we know it, there will be good and less good moments where we will all have to be united and you will have to stand by us. The motivation that I have inside today married perfectly with that of Catania.”
“The sense of belonging must be what we transfer onto the pitch. There is a lot of work to do. We will have to be a competitive team and there will certainly be no lack of commitment and work”
“I believe that Toscano is always looking for new challenges and Catania is a great opportunity. I have always met the Catania players all over the world, fifteen thousand Serie C season ticket holders are rarely seen. Catania is a great challenge. We will have to sew the right outfit for the staff we have built. There must be no lack of intensity and rhythm, now it’s a football game of duels and it will also have to be a strong team mentally. In bad moments you have to be strong and know how to react.”
“I’ve been here since yesterday and we haven’t left the office. It’s not whoever is best who wins, but whoever makes the fewest mistakes. Human values are important to build a strong group and a strong identity. Here too we will be very careful in our assessments.”
“I’m used to not looking behind, what we did in Cesena will go down in history, now I’m only thinking about Catania. In Group C what is more complicated is the environmental situation, the competitive aspect is a little higher but it is the category in general that must be abandoned as soon as possible.
