The coach of Teramo, Marco Pomantespoke to our editorial staff, opening up to an analysis of the two sensational years and underlining the enthusiasm that accompanies him in preparing for his return to Series D.

Player and coach of a certain level categories. How much did motivation, courage and conviction influence the complicated “Teramana” choice two years ago?
The motivations in a job like this are fundamental, and two years ago the prospect of working in a square important how Teramo had a great influence. The risk was very high, many thought we were crazy to start such a journey, you have everything to lose in that situation. However, time has proven me right, they have been two wonderful years, an incredible enthusiasm has returned to the city and this fills you with satisfaction. It’s obvious that it was a risk, but in life you have to take risks, believe in yourself and your ideas.
Coherent and strong ideas. But was it difficult to maintain those tactical ideas, which are part of Pomante’s teams, even in categories where preparation for the match is lacking?
Continuing to pursue your football ideas is essential; However, I would like to say that in these two years we have met very tactically prepared teams and very strong players on a technical level. The two promotions are just the starting point but should not be underestimated, we fought every match against prepared opponents and we earned our successes; certainly the continuity of a game idea remains at the center of the work in each category.
In this regard, is there a team or coach that managed to amaze you that deserves a mention?
Naming names in particular is never nice but in these two years we have addressed top level technicians and very well led teams. Quality coaches that I also appreciate on a human level; I’m thinking of very well led teams like Torrese and Angolana. Plus, the Bonatis themselves And Del Zotti are technicians who deserve sincere compliments for their work.
What have you brought in your Serie D luggage from these two years? And what is missing to deal with it in the best possible way?
They have been two splendid years, I certainly carry with me the enthusiasm of the victories and the support of the fans. A special environment has been created that deserves to be reciprocated with commitment And hunger also in the new category. This must be the key word for next year: hunger and desire to face challenges. It will be one of the best groups of the last few years and so it will be complicated, but beautiful.
The enthusiasm is due to a perfect team, that of last year. Is there any work being done to improve it on the outside and between the posts with players who are out of range?
The team deserves a lot of confirmation and I know they are working towards that; Filing out the details is essential to compete in an iron circle. Yes, the roles we are working on are those, there are no certainties regarding age but we will work for over-age players especially in goal. The common denominator must remain the hunger and dedication towards an important place like that of Teramo, also to make up for a budget that is lower than a couple of the big names in the competition.
Speaking of non-altitude, the relationship with young people in the coach’s work is fundamental, how much did your first experience in the Juniores of Pineto help you in this?
Working with young people is always nice. Start with them in Pineto he laid the foundations for my journey; Then I found a wonderful group there that allowed me to express myself at my best. When you work with passion you always get results, young people convey their desire to grow and give everything, with some older players the relationship can be different.
Young people and “senators” of the locker room. Some have been following you for a long time, you have shared the changing room with others, how much do the “elderly people” help you?
The expert component of the team group is essential to experience championships of a certain level. I am lucky enough to have Alfonso Pepe among my family, and I would say that there is a relationship with him that goes beyond the sporting bond. Mutual respect and respect are fundamental to helping each other, also because the transition from a player-player relationship to a different working relationship like ours may not be easy. On a human level, they are players who give a lot, then on the pitch everyone must deserve the opportunities, but experience is a component that cannot be missing in Serie D.
Pepe was the first to renew, how crucial would it be to do the same with players like Sanseverino (the most employed) and Esposito (the most prolific midfielder last year)?
Pepe’s renewal is well deserved, just as the boys you mentioned deserve it. They are fundamental players, they all gave a great hand and confirmation Many deserve it; I’ve known Ciccio Esposito for a long time, we played together in Pineto, he was very important this year. I’m not dealing with renewals though, so we’ll see what happens.

Enthusiasm and drive from the fans, could untying the Bonolis knot in view of Serie D be at the top of the wish list?
It is a delicate and extremely complex topic. I’m not finding out much about it, but training during the week in our stadium would certainly make the difference. We have the San Nicolò pitch available but the hope is to train continuously in our stadium. This team and this city deserve it.
Returning to the reasons with which we started the chat, is the push you feel inside the same as two years ago, or should the enthusiasm be dampened a bit in view of a high-level championship? Can the goal bar be raised higher?
The motivational drive is very strong And it couldn’t be otherwise. We are preparing to meet strong teams, let’s see the situation in Ancona and Recanati. However, the enthusiasm must not be dampened, the iron round must only be a motivation and must give us the hunger necessary to fight and play every match. Talking about goals is difficult; we have to think game after game and give our best on every occasion, I’m sure that in this way we could get a lot of satisfaction.
Do you still see yourself on the Teramo bench in the future? Does the suggestion of Pescara remain?
