ONTM and HERMES: planning for the future – VDA News

Rome, 18 June. – ONTM – National Observatory for the Protection of the Sea, an organization that aims to protect and enhance the Sea Cluster, understood as a strategic asset of the socio-economic architecture of the country, and Hermes – European Study Center, an organization that contributes to the advancement of European integration and multilateral cooperation, they form an important alliance which aims to systematize socio-economic, geopolitical and environmental issues, according to a multi-disciplinary and multi-level approach; all of this, in order to create a constructive institutional and diplomatic dialogue aimed at the main institutional and private stakeholders, useful for encouraging the creation of a valuable impact from the point of view of collective interests.

The synergy between ONTM and Hermes, photographed by the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the President of ONTM Roberto Minerdo and the President of Hermes Davide Maniscalco, aims to place itself at the service of national and international institutions, as well as towards the community and of the entrepreneurial sector, positioning itself as a transversal vector devoted to planning and concreteness, useful for encouraging the creation of a valuable impact from a social, environmental and economic point of view.

For the President of Hermes Davide Maniscalco “the signed agreement is part of a strategy to protect a domain strongly characterized by the European dimension. In this direction, it becomes essential to create increasingly functional synergies to promote the security and resilience of infrastructures, with particular reference to those of submarine cables and, at the same time, encourage coordination actions between the European Regulator and the players of the individual Member States”.

Likewise, Roberto Minerdo, President of ONTM, underlines how “this new synergy represents for ONTM the desire to make the attention it intends to pay to issues such as geo-politics, geo-economics and geo-economics ever more evident and incisive. strategy, increasingly relevant not only in the institutional dialogue, but also for the interests of protecting the community and the entire economic cluster – directly or indirectly – connected to the maritime sector”.

The concrete implementation of the initiatives that will implement the Protocol is placed in the hands of the General Director of Hermes Giuseppe Tanga and the General Director of ONTM Federico Ottavio Pescetto, who are given the task of identifying the first areas on which to focus, in awareness that only an overall vision, guided by an intelligence-driven logic, can – today more than in the past – bring concrete results.
