In Via della Gronda, many people have recently complained about what was happening in the vicinity of a restaurant and have called the police several times. For this reason, the Police Commissioner of Lucca closed a shop in Viareggio, located right in Via della Gronda, for 30 days, following checks and interventions by the Carabinieri and the police due to events that disturbed public order, creating inconvenience for residents, even at night. . The command of the Carabinieri Company of Viareggio has notified the owner of the Argana commercial activity of the temporary closure decree issued by the police commissioner of the province of Lucca. The last police checks were carried out by Nas personnel and by the unit at the Labor Inspectorate.

Specific checks that were promoted after numerous reports of noise, fights and degradation by citizens. This resulted in sanctions for hygiene reasons, by the Nas, and for illegal workers, by the Labor Carabinieri. Hence the immediate suspension of commercial activity. Already from the first moments in which the closure measure was notified, the residents expressed a series of thanks “for having restored dignity and tranquility to the neighbourhood, allowing people to also pass on foot and by bicycle along Via della Gronda, without risking being involved in fights or assaults”.

The Carabinieri and police will naturally continue prevention services in all neighborhoods of the city, intensifying checks on commercial activities, beach establishments and road traffic throughout the summer with the aim of giving residents and tourists on holiday greater safety.
