Florence, 27 June 2024 – Waiting for departure from Florence of the Tour de France scheduled for Saturday 29 June, the Israel Premier Techprofessional team of Israel in his fifth consecutive participation in the race, he organized an event in honor of Gino Bartali in the garden of the synagogue of Florence on Wednesday afternoon.

The Israel Premier Tech team gave their jersey to Joy Bartali, remembering the commitment of his grandfather who exploited his image as a cycling champion to save hundreds of Jews. During the evening there were also moments of emotion in memory of the victims of the attacks by Palestinian terrorists on 7 October 2023, with the story of Avida who lost his wife, son and a leg that day, and who today is among those accompanying the Israeli team at the Tour. “It’s a great honor for me to be here – he said – It’s a small step in my rehabilitation and how to move forward in my life, because it’s easy, really easy to get down. I chose to move forward and seeing all this community, all these good people makes me stronger.”
