Below is a statement released by the organizers:

Last stop in the regional capital, Wednesday 19 June at 8pmat the Church of Vallisa (now Auditorium) of Barifor the much followed sound path of “THE SOUND OF STONES – Concert itinerary from Gargano to Salento”, an artistic project of the Camerata Musicale Barese co-financed by the Puglia Foundation.

Designed for the creation of 7 concerts from 4 May to 19 June in as many cities in Puglia, with the desire to rediscover and bring beauty to some of the most precious and ancient places of worship in our land, the project concludes its journey precisely in one church symbol of a great recovery both material and immaterial, the Vallisa, which has established itself in recent years as a cultural link between the historic center and new Bari. The protagonists of the evening were two exceptional organists among the most talented in Southern Italy, Carlo Maria Barile and Angelo Tranconewhich they will offer for listening four organ concertos by JS Bach. The concerts, the result of Bach’s transcriptions of violin works by Antonio Vivaldi And Johann Ernstthey will be executed in one unpublished version for two organsfollowing a readjustment ad hoc accomplished by Barile themselves And Trancone. Barile, an organist from Puglia with a multifaceted and multi-instrumentalist background, has collected experiences on the most prestigious stages of the international scene between Italy, Europe and overseas, demonstrating a strong ability to synthesize the styles learned, with his personal taste and approach to organ music. Trancone, a very talented organist from Campania, completed his training abroad between Denmark and Germany; finalist and winner in several competitions, he carries out an intense concert activity as a soloist and continuum player in important Italian and foreign festivals and shows, also recording for Amadeus, Novantiqua, Dynamic and Warner Classics.

The Camerata is pleased to invite citizens to participate in this final event of the festival, a moment which will certainly meet the expectations of this highly evocative sound exploration, artistically curated by Maestro Francesco Di Lerniawell-known Apulian organist.
