Ahead of the ballot in Samarate the center-right lines up the “big names” and Matteo Salvini also arrives: League leader Salvini Premier will arrive Wednesday 19 June in the hamlet of San Macario.
Meeting to start from 7pm in Piazza Mantegazzain support of Enrico Puricelli mayor, with the inevitable risotto offer.
Salvini had already sent the day of the first round a message to Puricelli: «I’m here». And in the end he keeps his promise for this second round: the centre-right united on 8-9 June received 42% and needs to regain ground compared to the “alternative” front, which (out of four separate candidates) had obtained 58%.
The ambition of Puricelli’s coalition is to regain the votes of defectors from the centre-right, drawing on an existing political vote pool (58% of Samaratese voters in fact voted for the conservative parties).
Also symbolic is the challenge in San Macario, traditionally the fraction that votes most for the centre-right, where Luca Macchi, the former Forzista who received 13% overall and who is now making efforts for Alessandro Ferrazzi, the centre-left candidate who now he has closed a broad and transversal alliance which also includes Samarate al Centro di Macchi, as well as Movimento 5 Stelle and civic Samarate Insieme.
