The man, a convicted felon and homeless, attacked the officers who intervened in Piazza Turi Ferro.

The policemen of Catania they arrested a 25-year-old Maghrebi man with a criminal record on charges of resistance, violence, threats and injury to a public official.

The intervention took place in Piazza Turi Ferro, following a report from some citizens regarding two individuals intent on throwing objects at passing and parked cars.



When the officers arrived, one of the suspects had already walked away, while the 25-year-old, upon seeing the police, immediately showed aggressive behavior.

Blocked by the officers, the man continued to rage during the transport to the police station, going so far as to headbutt the company car. Even in the police offices, the young man maintained a violent attitude, kicking the officers, who were subsequently taken to the emergency room for medical treatment.



The man, identified with difficulty as a 25-year-old Maghrebi with a criminal record, homeless and irregular on the national territory, continued to resist even during the transfer to the police headquarters. During the journey, he attempted to damage the company car again, forcing the officers to use pepper spray to bring him back to calm.



Once the identification operations were completed, the 25-year-old was arrested and taken to prison, marking a further episode of violence against the police in Catania.
