The “Let’s unite for Potenza” list: “Undue pressure on regional and institutional employees”
What is happening in these hours in the regional and sub-regional offices is truly incredible and totally deplorable from an ethical point of view, bordering on legality. Seeing the mayoral candidate Fanelli, accompanied by the director appointed by the politician of the moment, at the headquarters of the regional bodies and their subsidiaries, is a punch in the stomach for democracy. It is an act of violence against the exercise of free voting, an undue interference that should not occur in a free and delicate competition such as the direct election of the mayor.
We have already witnessed, during the first round electoral campaign, the candidacy of city councilors representing that general director or that administrator appointed by politics. This in itself was deplorable, but now for the administrator of a public body to bring a candidate into the employee rooms just because he is vice president of the outgoing region, it is intolerable in a rule of law. However, we are confident because we feel the people on our side, that people who, with Smaldone, Giuzio and Telesca, have already rejected the League of differentiated autonomy in the first round, which wants to take away resources from our poorest realities and bring them to the North. We are certain that people will not give in to these half-assed measures.
It is also right to thank the candidates on our list and other allied lists who, even in the event of victory, may not be elected. We must thank them for the important work done in achieving this extraordinary goal. We must look to them to continue building, with Vincenzo Telesca as mayor, a path of rebirth that also passes through their experiences and their suggestions. More than once our candidate for mayor has expressed a clear desire to share the most important choices in the administration of the city with all citizens. We cannot therefore fail to imagine the direct involvement of those who even contributed with their candidacy.
It’s time to stand together and work for change in this city. Together, the goal is within reach.
