Naiads, the Olympic swimming pool opens today – Pescara

PESCARA. The Olympic swimming pool of the Le Naiadi sports center in Pescara reopens today. This is the second pool put back into operation after the restoration of the water polo stadium, which also marked the restart of the facility. In recent days, lifeguards and technicians have worked to prepare the 50-meter swimming pool, which has effectively been closed for two years.
In addition to maintenance, cleaning and filling activities, it was necessary to replace the grates and install the new lanes. Now, after the inspection for fire safety certifications, it can be opened: the boilers are already in action to heat the water and the green light is expected starting today. It must be said that, as also happens for the Pala water polo, access to the swimming pool will be reserved exclusively for athletes of the various sports associations who have obtained the water spaces from the Fira and who have already been training inside the sports facility for over a month. For this reason, anyone who intends to use the spaces of the Olympic swimming pool must necessarily register with one of the associations, which in turn request water spaces from the manager to carry out activities ranging from free swimming to the various courses provided. All this because Fira, as already said in the past, cannot directly carry out commercial activities, but only limit itself to renting spaces to requesting companies, which can then organize the activities they deem appropriate. In any case, the reopening of the Olympic swimming pool has the aim of giving further impetus to the entire sports centre, which is back in operation after months of darkness and which is looking towards the new competitive season starting in September with the idea of expanding the pool of users of the sports center.
In addition to the two swimming pools put back into operation during the summer, it will also be necessary to intervene on the 25 x 16 pool on the upper floor and the 25 x 10 on the ground floor, so as to be able to put them back into operation starting from next September.
