Tommaso Moscara new general secretary of CGIL Lecce

Tommaso Moscara (in the picture) is the new general secretary of the CGIL Lecce. He succeeds Valentina Fragassi, currently regional secretary of the CGIL Puglia public function. The General Assembly, meeting today 17 June 2024, elected Moscara in the presence of the national secretary of the CGIL, Lara Ghiglione, the general secretary of the CGIL Puglia, Gigia Bucci, the regional confederal secretaries Dino Testini and Filomena Principale. The provincial confederal secretariat has also been elected and will assist the general secretary. Together with Simona Cancelli, in the confederal secretariat from January 2023, Mirko Moscaggiuri, former provincial general secretary of the union that protects workers in the tertiary and tourism sectors, Filcams Cgil Lecce, will also be part of the secretariat (from 2015 until last May), and Fiorella Fischetti, still general secretary of the CGIL Lecce public service.

Born in Galatino in 1964, Tommaso Moscara has been a member of the CGIL since 1990. He joined the joint trade union representation of Telecom (now TIM) in 2000 and in the same year became deputy secretary of Slc Cgil Lecce, a position he will hold until 2008. For the Slc -Cgil, the telecommunications workers’ union, was also regional TIM coordinator and provincial general secretary (since 2018). In February 2022 he joined the provincial confederal secretariat.
