Arrested in Pavia for theft and attempted robbery: a 37-year-old man ended up in handcuffs.

On Saturday 15 June 2024, the State Police arrested an Pavia a thirty-seven year old Italian citizen accused of aggravated theft, attempted improper robbery and injuries.
The theft of house keys
The incident began at 8.54am when a report via the emergency number 112 indicated a theft taking place inside a car parked in Viale Campari, in front of the Coop supermarket. The owner of the car has declared that the house keys and the remote control for the driveway gate were no longer inside the vehicle.
He tries to escape, but is blocked
The operations center immediately issued a search note to the flight crews, who quickly suspected that the person responsible could head towards the victim’s home, located nearby. Once on scene, the officers noticed a man who went down the stairs of the apartment building, chased by the car owner’s son. As soon as the fugitive saw the officers, he tried in vain to escape into the surrounding countryside, but was promptly stopped.
The victim’s son said he saw the suspect handling the keys to his father’s front door and being attacked in an attempt to physically stop him.
After a search, the keys were missing found in the suspect’s pockettogether with driveway gate remote control, corresponding to those previously reported as stolen from the car park of the Coop supermarket in Viale Campari. The items were promptly returned to the rightful owner, who then I filed a complaint with the police offices.
Aggravated theft, attempted robbery and injuries
During the investigation, the steering staff went to Viale Campari, where a supermarket employee confirmed having noticed two suspicious individuals among the parked carsone of which perfectly matched the description of the subject stopped by the officers.
The suspect was then arrested on charges of aggravated theft, attempted improper robbery and injuries. He was subsequently transferred upon order of the judicial authority to the Pavia prison to await the validation hearing.
