In an atmosphere of sincere friendship, the Leos began the handover of power, a young Club but rich in experience and very active in the District, defined by the incoming president Grazia Giammarrusti as a lifeblood for the Lions. Benedetta Nolasco after leading excellently for a year, earning her club several awards, including the fairy tale-Leo.
Following this, the Lions Out-Coming President, Giovanni Dirienzo, greeted the financial year just ended by thanking all the members without distinction for having supported him in the demanding task of leading the Altamura Host Club and carrying forward the program he had set himself, where the common denominator was the social purpose, that is, promoting the needs, and sometimes shortcomings, of the territory as well as people in difficulty. He revived the main services performed, without mentioning them.
At the end of the exciting presentation and not only for the protagonists the moment of the “handover”, the Out-Coming President invited the in-coming President Grazia Giammarrusti to ring the Bell.
The incoming President, quite excited, having already been well introduced to the LIONS world for years, thanked the Members for the esteem shown to her and asked for everyone’s help to carry forward the substantial program which will also include cultural and non-cultural activities. You mentioned the Board of Directors, full of young Lions, who will accompany you in your year as president.
She then closed with a message addressed to herself and to all the members: “We serve”.
During the ceremony some “appreciations” were given to those who actively helped the Out-Coming President and the Melvin Jones Fellow to Luigi Galantucci for their own merits.
The “Tolling of the Bell”, rung in unison by the four Presidents, brought a joyful conclusion to a pleasant evening.
