The lights go out, the curtain opens and elegance enters the scene. Discipline, technique, dedication and professionalism were interconnected yesterday afternoon, 16 June, on the stage of the Politeama Theater in Catanzaro. The school is the supporter of this “Dance Project” by Soveria Mannelliin collaboration with “Dance Selection” of the capital. The end of academic year show, entitled “Interconnections”, he enchanted the audience, giving an hour and a half of pure emotion. The underlying theme of the entire essay, to which the meaning of each choreography has been meticulously connected, is the profound interactions that govern our lives, in every area, underlining the message that “in the deepest reality, beyond time and space , we could all be members of one body.”
Students of all ages interpreted the aforementioned theme, masterfully treading the stage, immersed in the splendid setting of the politeama: from the very tender little girls of the preparatory classes, to the promising classes of predance and the first courses, up to the more adult and technically mature dancers of the advanced courses . All the groups were engaged in different genres of dance: from classical to modern, from contemporary to hip-hop.
As in every dance school, also at the “Dance Project” there is a milestone which, in this case, for over thirty years, has made such beauty possible: the teacher, as well as the owner of the two schools, Maria Rosa Cosco. Originally from Soveria Mannelli, today she lives in Catanzaro and works with tireless commitment to convey her immense passion to her students. Maria Rosa, assisted in Soveria by her invaluable helpers, Laura Mancuso and Mariafrancesca Baratta, faithful veterans in the sector, never gave up in the face of the many difficulties encountered in her long journey. Her characteristic traits and her modus operandi, which have always distinguished her, have also borne excellent fruit this year, amply repaying her for every sacrifice: love for discipline, seriousness, humility and, above all, human and professional care towards her every pupil, just like what happens in a family. Because this is the “Dance Project”. A large dancing family, where every student (and even former student) can always feel at home. At the end of the show, the Teacher underlined the very important role of the families of each student, for the indispensable trust and necessary support, without which the school could not exist and the realization of such events would not be possible.
The performance will be repeated on the evening of June 21st in Piazza Bonini, in Soveria Mannelli, as part of the festivities of San Giovanni Battista. Dance is an art that blends beauty and harmony, elegance and discipline. The “Progetto Danza” school is the living embodiment of this. Admire to believe.
