Ten electric bikes were seized this morning, in Cerignola, after checks carried out by the Local Police with the support of the ‘Specialized Road Check Group’ of the General Territorial Directorate of the South of
Vehicle registration.
The seizures represent the outcome of extensive checks that the Local Police carried out over the weekend, concentrating their work in densely frequented areas, parks and restricted traffic zones, requisitioning 30 electric bikes.
In the afternoon, yet more checks, this time on heavy vehicles, with the aid of the instrumentation of the Specialized Motorization Unit. “Today’s result arises from the commitment of the agents towards this end

“The objective is to allow all fellow citizens to walk with peace of mind, avoiding unpleasant surprises with bikes whizzing by at impressive speeds. The dangers are not only for pedestrians but also for those who use these real mopeds, also putting their own lives at risk. These are often children or adolescents, who perhaps are not perfectly aware of the dangers they run. The activity that the agents are carrying out is of fundamental importance because it helps to educate. I also thank the DMV for the use of cutting-edge vehicles and instruments which allow us to identify any transgressions almost immediately” adds the councilor for Security, Teresa Cicolella.
