The carabinieri of the Reggio Emilia Principale station, together with an Operational Intervention team of the 5th Carabinieri Regiment of Bologna, late last Saturday evening, during a patrol in via Eritrea, noticed a man who, at the sight of the carabinieri, he ran away, abandoning a pouch on the street. The suspicious attitude seen by the military led the operators to carry out further checks, culminating in the recovery of the pouch inside which they found approximately 30 grams of narcotic substance of the marijuana type, which was then seized..
The Carabinieri are now investigating to trace the man who fled, hypothesizing against him – albeit in an alleged manner – the hypothesis of the crime of detention for the purpose of drug dealing. The narcotic found will be deposited in the crime register office of the Reggio Emilia prosecutor’s office.
On the night of 13 June, however, a patrol from the Corso Cairoli station during another service to combat urban decay and to prevent and repress drug dealing carried out in the area of the historic railway station, noticed a foreign citizen who, at the sight of the carabinieri fled. Stopped by the military, despite resistance, he was found in possession of two doses of 5 and 15 grams of hashish, seized together with the sum of 225 euros in banknotes of various denominations, presumably believed to be the proceeds of the illicit drug dealing activity.
For these reasons, the Carabinieri reported a 29-year-old resident in Cavriago to the Prosecutor’s Office on charges of possession for the purpose of dealing drugs and resisting a public official. The investigations relating to the proceeding, in the preliminary investigation phase, will continue for the usual investigative investigations for the purpose of evaluations and determinations inherent to the exercise of criminal action.
