Bread festival, success confirmed

A success was expected and so it was. Yesterday the 23rd edition of the much appreciated “Bread Festival” of Loreo ended, an event marked by tradition for the community of the delta town.

This edition of the “Bread Festival” concluded by bringing the tradition of bread making and the importance of bread in local culture to the center of the scene. Organized by the Loreo Pro Loco, the event involved the entire community, offering a wide range of activities that celebrated ancient crafts, music, art and culinary tradition.

The entire week was animated by numerous events that attracted residents and visitors also from outside the province and region. Among the main attractions are the ancient wheat threshing and “Marinoni” threshing, with equipment from the early twentieth century, initiatives that fascinated the public by bringing almost forgotten agricultural traditions back to life. The bread-making workshops, managed by Domeneghetti Bakery in Loreo, offered a unique opportunity to learn the artisan techniques of bread production.

There was no shortage of moments of cultural study with public conferences. Music played a central role in the festival, with live performances and performances of typical music from the rice weederscreating a festive and engaging atmosphere.

The culminating day of the festival was yesterday. The day began with the opening of the typical products market, offering visitors the opportunity to taste local specialties. The celebration of the mass, presided over by the bishop of Chioggia Giampaolo Dianin, represented a moment of spiritual and community reflection.

The event saw the participation of numerous local and regional authorities. Among those present, the mayor of Loreo Moreno Gasparini, the president of Coldiretti Veneto Carlo Salvan, the president of Pro Loco Diego Siviero, the regional councilor Cristiano Corazzari and, representing the region, the mayor of Porto Tolle Roberto Pizzoli. Their presence testified to the importance of the festival not only at a local but also regional level.

The 23rd Loreo Bread Festival has confirmed itself as an unmissable event, capable of combining tradition and innovation, past and present. The ancient crafts, the artisan workshops, the music and the culture created a rich and varied event, which was able to involve and excite all the participants, reaffirming the value of tradition and community.

The appointment is for next year, with the promise of a festival even fuller of surprises and unforgettable moments.
