There is a new canteen at the night nursery in via Raiberti in Monza. At the same time, the internal courtyard of the multifunctional center will also be rearranged. The project is part of the actions promoted by Soroptimist International together with Ikea of Carugate through the Help projectin favor of associations that deal with disadvantaged people, minors in situations of suffering or poverty, women subject to violence and discrimination.

The refurnished canteen is owned by the Municipality of Monza and is managed by San Vincenzo which also takes care of the night nursery for homeless peopleto. The canteen offers more than 40 thousand meals a year to people in difficulty and represents a place of aggregation and refreshment for visitors. The renovation of the canteen was a complex project that began in 2023 and which, after various steps, in which the Soroptimist Club actively participated, saw the delivery of furnishings, by Ikea last June 6th.

Inauguration with representatives of the San Vincenzo council, the Soroptimist club of Monza which sponsored it and representatives of Ikea Carugate, in particular Romana Caldarellisustainability specialist, who designed and implemented everything as part of the inclusion project.
«Not owning a house, but being able to eat your meals in a totally renovated, beautiful and joyful place – says the president of the Soroptimist club of Monza Sara Polito – it makes life less difficult and offers a hope of dignity to the people who benefit from it, because it makes them imagine that, beyond their own darkness, there can be light outside».
