The ESN Sui-Generis Basilicata Student Association is pleased to announce the tenth edition of “Musica Senza Etichetta”, a cultural project created to unite the academic world with the school, creating a space for growth and cultural exchange for young people from Basilicata and beyond. Over the years, the festival has seen numerous changes and significant growth, but has always maintained its main objective unchanged: to promote aggregation and reflection through music, art and sport. This year the Festival was indicated as the Pillar Project of Potenza Italian Youth City 2024, confirming the high value of the initiative and the importance it has acquired over the years.
ROAD TO MSE: The Musical Contest – The beating heart of the project is the “ROAD TO MSE” music contest, created to give visibility to young artists, students of the University of Basilicata and beyond, this year it is enriched with a new category entirely dedicated to DJs. The winner of the DJ Contest, which took place on 17 and 24 May 2024, will perform on the final evening to close the MadMan concert. The Band Contest, which took place on 6 and 13 June 2024, will allow the winner to have the opportunity to record an unreleased song and open the main artist’s concert. The location of the event was the historic center of Potenza, selected to enhance the cultural heritage of the city and promote moments of inclusion and socialization among young people so as to make the city increasingly alive.
Sport and Sustainable Mobility – The festival is not just music, but also sport. This year, the sporting activities were spread over three different days: starting with the “Bike City Tour” organized on 2 June on the streets of the city of Potenza, continuing with the “MSE LEAGUE all in one night”, a night event held between 7 and 8 June at the University Sports Center which involved young people from different backgrounds with the ultimate aim of promoting team spirit. Among the novelties of 2024 there will be the “BK Summer League” Basketball Tournament which will be held over two days, those of 5 and 6 July at the Rocco Mazzola sports complex in Via Roma.
Final Concert and Solidarity – On June 22, 2024, the festival will culminate with the final event: the “Musica Senza Etichetta” concert. The evening will begin at 7.00 pm in the car park in front of the Macchia Romana Campus of the University of Basilicata, with the award ceremony and performance of the winners of the two musical contests. Subsequently, MADMAN, an artist of national caliber, will go on stage, accompanied by DJ 2P, very popular among young people, so much so that he received great consensus immediately after the official announcement of his performance during the closing evening of Musica Senza Etichetta.
As in previous editions, entry will be free and in the name of solidarity. Thanks to the collaboration with IoPotentino and the Magazzini Sociali project, the “Solidarity Ticket” initiative will be promoted: participants will be able to donate food for those who need it, helping to raise public awareness towards the fight against food waste.
