Farewell to little Aurora on Wednesday – Pescara

MONTESILVANO. The farewell to little Aurora, the 10-year-old girl who tragically disappeared on Thursday afternoon at the Montesilvano train station, and to the young mother, Jeidi, 40, will not be a funeral with a Catholic rite. On Wednesday (morning or afternoon, the time has not yet been established) there will be a moment of proclamation by Jehovah’s Witnesses in the Di Giorgio funeral home. The family of the woman’s husband, and father of the little girl, are in fact Jehovah’s Witnesses, which is why a funeral service in the church is not planned for the last farewell to the two victims of the tragedy that occurred on platform 2 of the station last Thursday, around 6.30 pm , as the Frecciarossa train passed by which overwhelmed their young lives.
The discomfort of the little girl’s mother, of Cuban origins but adopted for years in Montesilva, must have become unbearable in the last days before the tragic act, so much so that it led her to take that step towards death.
The images from the station’s surveillance cameras confirmed what the witnesses at the scene, two girls who were in shock, had also told – shortly after witnessing the episode – to the Polfer officers, directed by the manager Aldo Luciani: arriving at the platform, the mother would have asked for information on the timetable of the arriving Frecciarossa, but that train did not include a stop in Montesilvano. A few minutes later, as the convoy passed, he jumped into the void hand in hand with his beloved daughter. It is the beginning of a pain that cannot find consolation, nor explanations that make it understandable. Montesilvano is still today a city left speechless in the face of this tragedy.
