Marco Carraihonorary consul of Israel for Tuscany, Emilia-Romagna and Lombardy, has decided that he will file, today in Florence, a complaint for incitement to racial hatred against the Imam of the ‘Iqraa’ Center in via Jacopo di Paolo, in the historic popular neighborhood of Bolognina, in the Emilia-Romagna capital. Not only that, Carrai also announces that he will send “a letter to the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, as guarantor of the Constitution, to intervene against these racist tendencies which have no place in our country and its Constitution. The same letter will be sent to mayor of Bologna, Matteo Leporeon whose territory one is allowed to utter these ramblings with impunity.”
THE radical sermons by Zulfiqar Khan, who defines himself as an “extremist”had been targeted in recent days by FdI parliamentarians Marco Lisei and Sara Kelany who, in a question to the government, had requested expulsion as it “may represent a safety hazard”. Zulfiqar not only preaches to the faithful in the Bolognina Center, but he is very popular online: his sermons on social media and platforms have thousands of views.
However, it is noted by the Islamic community that Zulfiqar, in the contested passage of the video (also published on the profile of the former director of Radio Padania, Alessandro Morelli), says exactly: “Zionists, their agenda says: “We must kill one by one, without sparing both the small and the large, as well as pregnant women.” And so he would report violence to the opposite camp.
However, Zulfiqar’s sermons remain very harsh: “Those who side with Israel and the United States they will come to a bad end”; “Netanyahu and Biden are the horns of Satan”, two of the statements.
And in two of his most recent speeches the preacher he took it out on a journalist from Pug, accused of “slander” for having written the article on FdI’s position, and, again, of being one of the “black spots” that incites hatred. “Yes, I heard about your reporter – explains Carrai –, we are faced with something that is going on far beyond disrespect for journalists, in Italy there is no space for this type of position, neither from an ethical nor a legal point of view”.
