It certainly remains yet another intolerable abusive behavior carried out by a man towards a woman, a twenty-year-old in this case. Let’s talk about what happened on Monday evening inside the IperTosano hypermarket, where around 8.30pm a man lowered his trousers and underwear in front of a twenty-year-old girl, with the clear and explicit intention of showing her his genitals.
The man – a foreigner according to initial findings, but nothing changes – was in the company of another person, when, after having passed the girl along the aisles of the hypermarket, he thought it was a real male move, perhaps the he thought it was funny to show the contents of his underwear.
This generated a reaction which also led to the intervention of the security guard employed in the security service of the commercial establishment, who identified the pair of men and also tried to stop them, to ask them to account for that unacceptable behaviour. The two, in response, had an arrogant attitude and left, as if they were untouchable.
Of course, neither the author nor the amused spectator risk very serious consequences, but the state police also got involved in the matter, called by Tosano’s security, and who went to the scene with a police patrol. The officers acquired images from the surveillance cameras to try to identify them.
Beyond the limited fact, it should perhaps lead to some reflection on how in the last week violent behavior has gradually emerged – both in fact but also intense in a broad sense – which jeopardize the real and perceived safety of women in cities in places public such as the streets and even among the crowded aisles of a busy supermarket.
