During the cordial meeting, the President Cav. Grimaldi, on behalf of the Association, expressed the widest availability for a constructive collaboration with the Prefecture in the interest of the territory and wanted to thank, on behalf of the members of the Provincial Section of the UNCI, the Prefect D’Agostino for having welcomed , with cordial solicitude, the request for a meeting.
The Cav. Grimaldi stated that this particular historical context presents everyone with a challenge: that is, converting moments of difficulty into a great opportunity for relaunching associations, as we find ourselves, today more than ever, having to safeguard everything that valid has been produced in recent years. The Prefect welcomed this availability by expressing appreciation towards Associations that bring together personalities of experience and moral rectitude, certified by the granting of important honours, thanking in particular President Grimaldi for his now multi-year collaboration with the Prefecture as well as Comm. Vito Dibitonto.
The Vice President himself illustrated the various initiatives implemented by the Association in the last four years, most of which in collaboration with the Prefecture, underlining the gratifying consensus received for the topics covered. The female head of UNCI, Cav. Santa Scommegna underlined how the considerable female membership of the Association is committed to every social sector, demonstrating great awareness and concrete support. The fight against inequalities is a fundamental objective that UNCI seeks to pursue by demonstrating full awareness of the value of women in promoting social changes and economic development in communities.
President Grimaldi, at the end of the cordial and fruitful meeting, had the pleasure of giving to Her Excellency Dr. D’Agostino, a reproduction of the postcard with philatelic cancellation issued by Poste Italiane in 2005 on the occasion of the first anniversary of the Law establishing the Province of Barletta Andria Trani, the pennant and the monothematic issue of the national periodical of the UNCI “Il Cavaliere d’Italia” all centered on the Province of Barletta Andria Trani, expressing, finally, the hope of having His Excellency as a welcome guest in the next events taking place programming. The Prefect, thanking him, was keen to underline how the Associations have always had a positive impact not only in the way of dealing with the concrete problems of the territory but also in creating that positive and constructive climate in which everyone, civil and religious institutions, law enforcement agencies and Citizens, they recognized themselves as an active, important and significant part of a broader project of moral and civil reconstruction of our communities.
