PESARO Today could be the right week to formalize the continuation of the sponsorship relationship between Vuelle and the Beretta family with the Carpegna Prosciutto brand, which will therefore support the Pesaro-based company for the sixth consecutive year. Clearly after the relegation to A2, it was certainly not a given that the main sponsor would decide to stay, and instead in the end it seems that white smoke has arrived between the two parties, and this will clearly allow for an even more substantial budget.

The first foreigner

In the meantime, yesterday Vuelle made official the first of the three players who have already signed in recent days – the other two are Matteo Imbrò and Danilo Petrovic – we are clearly talking about the American point guard Khalil Ahmad. «Carpegna Prosciutto Basket Pesaro announces that it has signed an agreement with Khalil Ahmad. Guard born in 1996, 193 cm and 84 kg, he will be one of the two foreigners on the roster for the 2024/2025 season led by coach ‘Pino’ Sacripanti. Player who can play the role of play scorer or even guard, capable of creating advantages both in isolation and in pick and roll: good scoring phase, integrates well alongside a point guard or a guard.”

Ahmad’s first words

“It’s great to be able to sign for Pesaro, a city and a Club with great passion and tradition! I’m super motivated and pumped for this season and I can’t wait to meet everyone. What can I say to the Pesaro fans? I can’t wait to start this new experience”. These are his first words as a red and white player. Khalil Ahmad graduated from Fullerton College, and his professional career began in 2019 with Keflavik, in Iceland. In 2020/2021 he was in Denmark in Horsens, then the following year he moved to Canada: with the Niagara River Lions he averaged 20.7 points and 4.6 assists: he was named player of the year in the Canadian championship.

His excellent performances earned him a place in the Israeli championship for 2022/2023, where he played with Hapoel Be’er Sheva: at the end of this experience he returned to Canada, again with the Niagara River Lions. Ahmad was once again a protagonist, winning the title of best defender of the year. In the summer of 2023 he returned to Europe: he faced and won the Belgian-Dutch championship wearing the Filou Ostenda jersey, with former VL Sam Van Rossom as his teammate. He averaged 23 minutes and 17 points per match, with 38.2% from three and 81.6% from free throws. He also played in the Champions League: in nine matches he averaged 22.6 minutes per game and 12.8 points. Offensive danger, intensity and excellent knowledge of European basketball are the characteristics that convinced the red and white technical staff to focus on him.

Finally yesterday Verona announced the exit from the contract with the American Kamari Murphy, while Rimini confirmed the playmaker Giovanni Tomassini who grew up in the red and white youth team of Vuelle. Vigevano instead has already announced the date of the camp and the second foreigner, it is Myles Anthony Mack.
