His motorbike catches fire on the Raccordo, it is Marco Torre, the 27-year-old policeman who died in Rome

His motorcycle caught fire on the Grande Raccordo Anulare of Rome and there was nothing that could be done for him. Marco Torrea 27-year-old policeman and young father, died following a terrible accident that occurred between the Selva Candida and Cassia exits.

According to what has been reconstructed, the motorbike crashed, for reasons yet to be ascertained, into a car and was immediately engulfed in flames. The accident left the young policeman no escape. Unfortunately, the intervention of the 118 health workers was useless, as they could not do anything other than declare the boy’s death.

As anticipated, the dynamics of the facts are still to be ascertained. According to the first reconstructions, the driver of the car was wearing an orange vest and, therefore, the deduction of those investigating is that his car was stopped on the emergency lane at the moment of impact.

One of the hypotheses being examined by the officers, who in the next few hours will examine the security cameras installed on the GRA, is that Marco Torre attempted to overtake on the right and suddenly found the car stopped on the emergency lane.

The investigators are analyzing the GRA video surveillance cameras to understand what happened: the driver of the small car was wearing an orange bib, which suggests that he was stopped on the emergency lane.
